Cantilever Rack

Cantilever racks are essential to storing and displaying long parts, pipes, and lumber supplies that won't fit on normal shelving racks.

Cantilevers were borrowed from construction and architecture designs and consist of a beam which is anchored at one end, while the other end is projected out into space. Using this simple lever system, cantilever racks offer the strongest, most efficient and versatile storage system you can choose. While typically used in industry, cantilever LAN racks with shelves can be purchased to support heavy computer hardware and components.

Strength of Cantilever Racks

If you need to store or display long, oddly shaped inventory such as plywood, pipes, doors, rolls, furniture, sheet steel, appliances, tubing, pallets, building materials or other structural pieces – then cantilever racks offer the strength you need. Racks can be purchased at different heights, and with different arm lengths, to accommodate their intended load. Depending on design factors, single cantilever arms can support up to 65,000 pounds. These rack systems are stable and will not lean or warp under heavy weight. They are designed to be sturdy enough to withstand years of rough industrial use.

Efficiency of Cantilever Racks

Cantilever racks allow you to maximize your warehouse or display space by allowing products to be loaded on both sides of an aisle. Because there are no frontal supports to interfere with loading and unloading, moving materials is faster and easier than with pallet shelving. All horizontal space can be used for storage. This is important because standard racks lose over 10% of their storage area to rack columns and supports. In comparison to standard racks, which become more expensive for longer products, cantilever racks become less expensive as your load lengths become longer, since you're able to use the same rack to support more product.

Functionality and Versatility

You can purchase cantilever racks in single or double faced models. Product loads can be placed flush against a wall, or can be accessible from two sides used to form aisles. Either way, you enjoy proper load support of expensive products while also having easy access. Products can be stored and retrieved by both hand and forklift. Cantilever arms are typically adjusted for height by utilizing the manufacturer's pre-drilled holes. Arms can also be canted at a slight angle to assure that items like pipes don't roll off. Since there are no frontal support columns, the entire length of a rack can be utilized for storage, and items of differing lengths can be stored on the same rack. Cantilever racks can also be custom-engineered and configured to meet your unique needs. Instillation services are available.
