House MoversHouse movers specialize in relocating entire buildings with a minimum of damage to the structures in the process. There are a number of reasons for utilizing house movers, with some of the most common being the preservation of historic buildings, the damage being done to a house by its location (i.e. dampness under the floors), a need to change some of the subfloor structures of a house, or simply a desire to move the entire building to a different location. The process that house movers use is a long and delicate one, with the typical house weighing dozens to hundreds of tons. The entire structure must be lifted off its foundation and supported with enough beams and dollies that the frame does not endure undue stress while being towed to the new location. If the house is being lifted to simply gain access to the foundation, the building will be propped up on bricks or columns while the foundation is being worked on.
