Magazine RacksThe front entryway, the master bedroom, the home office, and even the bathroom can be virtually buried beneath a mass of periodicals, magazines, pamphlets, and newsletters. In a busy household, it can often seem impossible to catch up on reading magazine and newspaper subscriptions. Installing a decorative magazine rack can be a functional and attractive way to help organize your periodicals. Entryway Magazine Racks In the entryway, a magazine rack mounted on the wall can provide a quick cubby for a handful of mail. These racks may also include a key holder, coat pegs, and mirrors, providing more than just organizational services. Designate one rack space for incoming mail to be sorted and a second one for outgoing mail to be sent. This can drastically cut down on lost bills, invitations, and sales announcements, and ensure that outgoing payments reach their destination as soon as the next person exits the house. These racks can also assist in keeping keys in a designated place and allowing last looks before going out the door. Bathroom Magazine Racks In the bathroom, a decorative magazine rack may be installed in the wall, or be a floor standing unit. Newer issues of magazines and other leisure reading can replace old issues from top to bottom, and there will be ample room to store the hobbies of all family members rather than stacking everything on the back of the toilet tank. For many, the few minutes alone in the bathroom are all the reading minutes allotted for the day; so make it as easy as possible to select your desired magazines or periodicals. Office and Bedroom Magazine Racks In the master bedroom and home office, magazine racks and other multi-pocket holders can be hung from the back of doors, attached to the wall, or placed flush against a wall to provide extra organization while taking up little space. In the bedroom, the rack can be painted or designed to highlight the décor. Racks can be made of iron, leather, cloth, and many other materials to fit the need, budget, and décor of any household. Generally speaking, a magazine rack can be the missing element needed to reduce clutter and improve organization. In fact, it is wise to place magazine racks near garbage cans so reading materials will be discarded when read. One should sort through the rack every so often to increase storage space. Be strong, and don't convince yourself that a magazine from April 1998 will still be read. Toss it and move on!
