Moving Supplies

So you are going to move, what is the first thing you will need? (Besides a big truck and a few willing friends?) Moving supplies! Not a problem, you say, you will just collect boxes at work and maybe ask the produce person at the grocery store if they have some empty banana boxes. And then you will just need several weeks' worth of old newspapers to wrap things in…right?

Well, not exactly. Moving supplies include several sizes of moving (strong, sturdy) boxes and perhaps even some moving wardrobe boxes for your hanging clothes. Don't forget rolls of packing tape, bubble wrap, larger moving boxes, packing paper and of course permanent markers to label what is in the boxes. Labeling the boxes also provides a map for those who are helping you move. Boxes labeled "kitchen utensils" should end up in the kitchen.

Moving supplies are available at mailbox stores everywhere, office supply stores and even on the Internet. Directions for packing are also available on many Internet sites. The cost of moving supplies varies from location to location. Used moving supplies are available cheap, and sometimes even free on the Internet.
