SlidesSlides are a popular format for presentations being given to groups of people. They allow everyone in the room to see images that are the same as what the presenter is seeing. The slides themselves are portable, cheap to make, and easily displayed using any standard slide projector. Slides are most commonly found in a standard 35mm format. They consist of a white plastic frame holding a transparent film with the image that will be projected. Slide projectors often have carousels, round revolving mechanisms that hold a large quantity of slides that are moved with a remote control to advance to the next slide. A strong light beams through the film and throws the image onto a flat surface, usually a projector screen on the wall, greatly magnifying it for easy visibility within the entire room. Slides can be made quite cheaply at a large number of vendors who can create them from photographs, drawings, or digital files. Slides are also considered an excellent method of archiving data in a compact form, and so duplicates are usually charged at a discount rate.
