Dog FenceA dog fence is a fence designed to keep dogs enclosed in a particular area. Dog fences can be constructed out of wood, stone, brick or chain. Most experts say that if a puppy is taught to respect a dog fence, regardless of the fence's height, the puppy will not attempt to escape even as a full grown dog. A chain length dog fence is the most common fence used by dog owners. Relatively inexpensive, this dog fence allows an unobstructed view and yet also deters intruders. Another type of dog fence is a picket fence. A picket dog fence has narrow slats of wood nailed to a wooden frame and when built at the proper height works to contain the dog. Lastly, there are hidden dog fences. A hidden dog fence has an electrical wire that outlines the perimeter of the area the dog is to stay. The dog wears a collar with a receiver and gives an electric shock when the dog gets to close to the dog fence. The hidden dog fence is ideal in communities where fences are not allowed.
