Duct Cleaning

Duct cleaning is the process of cleaning various heating and cooling components within a residence. If air ducts are not properly installed or maintained, the ducts can fill with dust, pollen, or bacteria – in other words, an allergy nightmare. Not cleaning a single duct can result in the contamination of an entire indoor air system, thus transferring the bacteria from one duct throughout the entire house. Frequent duct cleaning can reduce this dangerous indoor air pollution.

When hiring a professional duct cleaner, be careful about allowing the use of chemical biocides or sealants. Also make sure that all household furniture and carpet is protected during the cleaning and inspect to see if there are any asbestos containing materials in the heating and cooling system. If asbestos is present, special precautions need to be made and should not be removed by anyone other than trained and properly equipped contractors.
