Fireplace Tool

Whether using a real fireplace or not, one may want to consider investing in a set of fireplace tools. A fireplace tool can add to the décor of a room while making a crackling fire even more enjoyable. When burning a fire in a fireplace it is important to have a screen, which is a folding, usually metal guard set in front of the fire. It is used to keep ashes and hot elements from flying into the room and to help keep unwanted objects from getting caught in the fire.

Another important fireplace tool is the andiron, which sits inside the fireplace and is used to hold the logs in place. They are available in many different styles and materials. Yet another highly functional fireplace tool is a fireback, which is used to reflect the heat back into the room.

A fireplace tool set normally also consists of a poker, a shovel, a broom and a set of tongs, which are used to move food and fuel inside the fire. A log basket can be used to store and retrieve firewood inside, and no fireplace tool set would be complete with out a traditional bellows.
