Mold Inspection

A mold inspection should be conducted in all real estate transactions. Sometimes a mold inspection is included in a home inspection, and although mold inspections are not as popular as pest inspections, a mold inspection can prove to save a homeowner thousands of dollars if detected in the pre-sale stages of a transaction.

A mold inspection is conducted by having a professional take air samples from the property. The samples are then tested for toxic mold. From the mold inspection, if toxic mold is found, then the parties should be concerned as the cost of banishing mold is somewhat expensive.

It is important to have a mold inspection conducted because not all mold is toxic mold. Most molds can be removed with soap and water or with replacing the beams, sheetrock, or other material covered in mold. However, not all mold is visible, thus a mold inspection ensures that if mold is present, all parties are aware of its existence.
