Pond Filters

Pond filters are vital for any home or garden pond. Pond filters work to reduce algae buildup in the pond, dispose of fish waste, and protect the water pump from debris that falls into the pond. Regardless the size of the pond, a pond filter will work to keep the water clear and the fish healthy.

There are several different types of pond filters, including intake, submersed, in-line, and external filters. Intake pond filters are inexpensive and can be easily removed but they are small and don't adequately clean fish waste. Submersed pond filters are larger than pond filters that improve water quality while protecting the pump, but can take up valuable space in the pond.

In-line pond filters do not have to be cleaned frequently, but they may be difficult to re-seal. External filters are the largest pond filters and are located above ground.
