If you are a homeowner or business owner, chances are you will be faced with roof repair at some point. A roof consists of the outer covering of a building, which is important for keeping out the elements including rain, wind, snow and sun.

The most common reasons for roof repair include water leads, cracks, bubbles and algae. One of the many ways to prolong the life of your roof is proper roof maintenance.

Maintaining a roof can include keeping gutters and drains clear and in working order, properly removing snow build-up, and replacing flashings to keep roof joints waterproof. When repairing a roof it is important to know that a roof must not have more than two layers of shingles. The existing layers may determine whether you roof repair will consist of over-lay or tear-off.
